Public Mass during the lockdown

Following the announcement made by the Prime Minister on Monday 4 January,  the current advice is that “you can attend places of worship for a service. However, you must not mingle with anyone outside of your household or support bubble. You should maintain strict social distancing at all times”.

Public Mass will therefore continue to take place.

The new variant of Covid-19 is more transmissible and case numbers are rising in this area, so please remember to wear a face covering and be mindful of where you are seated in a pew – it is imperative that you maintain at least a one metre distance at all times during the Mass, including when lining up for Holy Communion and leaving the church. This is especially important at the busier weekend Masses.

If you are able, please log in when you arrive at church using the NHS Test and Trace App on your phone and scanning the QR code which is displayed at the entrance and exits of the church. Otherwise, you will be asked to give your contact details to the Mass Stewards.
