St Anne's Catholic School
The School
St. Anne's Catholic primary school is based in Court Road, very close to the centre of Banstead. It attracts just under 400 students of mixed gender ranging in age from four to eleven years old, drawing on a catchment area which includes Tadworth and Burgh Heath. The school has been in Banstead for many decades and has built a special position of respect within the local community. It has recently enjoyed particularly favourable press coverage for the quality of its results, following the appointment of a new headmaster in 2006. You can find its new website at: www.stannes-banstead.org.uk
St. Anne’s priorities are:
- To help its students acquire the academic, social and other skills that will enable them to play a full and satisfying role in society
- To provide a balanced approach which enables a broader development of students’ abilities
- Ensuring a safe learning environment within which students can grow in confidence. This extends to physical safety both within the school and on travel to school – with consideration to the school’s neighbours as well as other road users
The school population is from a predominantly Catholic background, but the school also includes other denominations. This inclusiveness and respect for other traditions and perspectives is part of the ethos that the school strives to maintain and communicate to its students.
The school’s popularity has helped to maintain a strong demand for places over many years and recently the school has decided to invest in an expansion programme to provide more classroom accommodation and to improve the quality of the learning environment.
